Our Signature Community Projects
The Junior League of the Space Coast, Inc. will be a force of change as we empower women and families to improve their well-being and conquer tomorrow’s challenges. Our 2022-2023 community projects include:
Structured as a come - and - go free health expo for the Brevard County Community. Our family friendly event showcases how kids and their families can eat smart and make healthy lifestyle choices. Kids in the Kitchen also sponsors Cooking with Mrs. Claus, a healthy hands on meal prep event held in conjunction with our annual Festival of Trees.
Focused on providing events (such as field day events to promote fitness), backpacks, daily essentials, and recess equipment to local Brevard County Title I schools, with an expanded monthly program agenda focusing on health and nutrition. As part of the Fueling Kids project, we also work with Early Headstart to promote healthy, cost effective meal preparation for families, and work with local partners to sponsor holiday needs like Thanksgiving meals and Summer School Food Pantries.
A new community project launching in 2022, focuses on encouraging girls to read and pursue STEM fields. Participants in the program will get inspired by speakers, and receive related books they can read at home. Our focus is on the younger and tween members of our community, introducing them to the possibilities and amazing aspects of STEM fields.
